    Installed price guidance

An honest installed quote—not a headline equipment price.

The final price depends on the system your home can use safely and effectively. Your written GRIDHUB quote separates the equipment, standard installation and any additional electrical work identified.

    Is a battery worth assessing?

Start with the energy problem—not a battery catalogue.

The right result depends on when you use electricity, how much solar you export, your tariff, backup requirements and future loads such as an EV.

    Energy value

Use more of your own energy

A battery may help when you export solar during the day and buy electricity back in the evening or during expensive periods.

    • Greater solar self-consumption
    • Peak-period load shifting
    • Scheduled lower-cost charging
    Resilience

    Plan backup and future loads

Backup must be designed around selected circuits, inverter output, reserve settings and the property’s electrical constraints.

    • Selected outage circuits where supported
    • EV charging and future expansion
    • Solar, switchboard and phase compatibility
A recent electricity bill is a useful starting point. Interval data and solar-monitoring information can provide a clearer picture of the battery capacity and power your household may actually use.
    Current support

Check the program rules before you commit.

Support is never automatic. Product, capacity, customer, installation-date, finance and compliance requirements apply.

    Australian Government

    Cheaper Home Batteries Program

The Australian Government describes the program as providing around a 30% upfront discount on eligible small-scale battery systems connected to new or existing rooftop solar. Actual value varies with eligible capacity, installation date, certificate value and equipment.

    NSW Government

    Home Energy Saver

Eligible NSW homeowners and landlords may apply for a zero-interest loan of up to $15,000 for approved energy upgrades, including residential batteries, subject to household-income, credit and program requirements. Loan applications are currently open; targeted discounts are coming soon.

    How GRIDHUB sizes it

From electricity bill to right-sized proposal.

    STEP 01

    Understand usage

Review bills, interval data, solar generation and grid-purchase periods.

    STEP 02

    Define the job

Set priorities for solar capture, peak shifting, EV charging and backup.

    STEP 03

    Check the system

Assess usable capacity, inverter, phase supply, switchboard and compatibility.

    STEP 04

    Compare options

Present assumptions, current support and the checks required for quotation.

    Several brands. One site-specific recommendation.

GRIDHUB considers FoxESS, GoodWe, Sigenergy, KSTAR and Sungrow against the property, existing solar, backup requirements, monitoring and budget.

    Good questions

Before you choose a home battery.

How much can a home battery save?

There is no universal percentage. Savings depend on usage, solar generation, tariff, fixed charges, battery size, charging strategy, exports, system losses and future prices. GRIDHUB models the opportunity rather than promising a standard result.

Can I add a battery to existing solar?

Often, yes. Compatibility depends on the existing inverter, switchboard, phase supply, approved equipment and proposed battery architecture.

Will my whole home operate during an outage?

Not automatically. Backup capability varies and must be designed around selected circuits, maximum output, reserve settings and installation constraints.

Can I charge a battery from the grid?

Compatible systems may charge during lower-cost tariff windows. The complete tariff and battery settings must be considered; a free or low-cost period does not remove supply charges or other conditions.
